The following rules MUST be adhered to while attending Camp.
Failure to adhere to these rules may result in being asked to leave Camp early and disqualification from attending camp in the future!
Hats, Body Protectors and any other safety equipment must be in line with current guidelines. Protective headwear (i.e. hat) to the current standard must be worn at all times whilst mounted and we strongly recommend they are also worn at all times whilst handling horses/ponies from the ground especially whilst leading, lunging and hand grazing. Skull caps must be worn with silk.
All horses and ponies stabling at camp must hold a passport and up to date influenza vaccinations. Passports will be check for vaccinations on arriving at camp. Any horse/pony not vaccinated will not be allowed to attend camp and no refunds will be given.
Emergency/Next of Kin information must be provided.
Bromsgrove District Riding Club (BDRC) will not tolerate acts of violence or any threatening behaviour. The BDRC Committee reserve the right to ask anyone guilty of unseemly behaviour, conduct or cruelty to leave the camp immediately.
The Club does not accept responsibility for any loss, damage or injury, etc which may be sustained by persons, horses or ponies, vehicles or property, servants in connection with, or arising out of the event. It shall be deemed a condition of entry that these rules have been accepted and each competitor shall agree to indemnify the organisers against any such accident.
Be respectful of the rights of all participants regardless of age, gender, ability, race, cultural background or religious beliefs or sexual identity. Encourage all riders and applaud their efforts. Do not ridicule for mistakes or criticise horses.
Smoking/Alcohol is not allowed whilst riding. The taking of drugs of any kind is not allowed.
Do not use foul, racist or abusive language and never use physical violence or threaten anyone.
The Club accepts no responsibility for any children under the age of 18, they must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Any fallers must be assessed by the. First Aider present.
Horses/ponies are not to be tied up on the yard. They must remain in their stables whilst being groomed/tacked up/mucked out etc.
For Cross Country, only a “Jockey Skull” may be worn. A jockey skull has no peak or noticeable protuberances above the eyes (or to the front), and has an even, elliptical or rounded shape with a smooth or slightly abrasive surface. They are usually worn with a removable hat cover containing the peak. Body protectors and medical arm bands are strongly advised and are mandatory on the cross country field.
Appropriate riding attire/correct footwear must be worn while mounted.
All horses must be covered by third party public liability insurance.
All instructors must have up to date insurance cover and first aid qualification.
With respect for the local residents we ask for quiet time after 9.30pm.
No Dogs Allowed.
The gate on the drive and all gates around the main yard must be closed at all times.
Any vehicle staying for the duration of camp must be parked in the camping area not on the stable yard. We strongly recommend that all trailers that are left have wheel locks on and are left at your own risk.
There will be no access to any of our paddocks what so ever.
The wash box is available for emergency use only and only under the supervision of the yard manager or another appointed adult. If used is to be left clean and tidy.
All droppings must be collected from the arenas and emptied into the trailers provided.
We ask that you help the committee to keep the camp area tidy at all times – remove any droppings you see in an arena / pathway and outside stables. Put rubbish in the correct recycling bin and remove any ’empties’ or rubbish from tables, especially outside!
No lunging in any of the arenas, lunging to only take place in the round pen.
All equipment is checked before your arrival, any breakages must be reported immediately to a BDRC committee member and charges may apply.
Jumps, arena markers, poles etc. must remain in their designated locations.
Fire extinguishers are located in the kitchen, hay barn, at the end of the stable rows. These are they for your safety and must remain in their designated locations. Anyone found tampering with them will be asked to leave the premises and will be charged for any damaged caused.
The yard, barns, Club House and Garden, Pod are all no smoking areas. We ask that anyone who is smoking does so out by the grass dressage area and do not leave their cigarette butts on the floor.
If you are not sure on something, a committee member will always be on hand should you have any concerns/questions.
All payments must be made in advance of Camp.
